I have now chosen an image for my front cover, once this was decided, I started using Photoshop. I used the spot removing tool to remove a few blemishes yet there were not too many. I did this in order to make my magazine look appealing and make my front cover look impeccable.
I decided to create my background layer. I made a new layer and made a new colour gradient. I tried my best to make it seem similar to one magazine convention which I liked which I will place below. The colour gradient is a slightly lighter blue with a darker blue/teal colour. When I gained my feedback from my target audience in my questionnaire, they decided that the blue colour scheme would look appropriate. I then decided to add an effect which gave a lighting effect on the image called 'hard light'. This made the image blend more with my background. Once I did that, I adjusted the exposure to make my image slightly brighter and give a more artificial, professional lighting look. Above on the left is my finished image.
